STEMM................. a worthy cause

Dearest Mom and Dad
On Saturday night I went to a fund raiser for STEMM - "empowering pregnant girls and young mums through support and education to gain independence". My friend Debbie is a volunteer - she looks after the babies while their young mums go to school.
The theme of the evening was HOLLYWOOD - Debbie walking the red carpet - looks as though she has done it before!!!

The waitstaff were dressed as Audry Hepburn.............

or (a very surprised looking) - Charlie Chaplain!!!

Seven of these young mums are heading off to university this year - overcoming huge obstacles - well done!!! Here they are accepting bursaries from generous Sunshine Coast businesses.

The waitstaff and Leanne......

..................... the dessert - sticky date pudding............I didn't get to photograph the main - I ate it before I remembered to take one............

.................... a prize for one of the silent auctions..........
All the lovely people at our table..............

................Leanne and Jules ...............behaving, for now............

Debbie and I - too much wine, me thinks!!! See what happens when Jane is around to reign us in........

Debbie is a volunteer - receiving a well deserved thank you hug from one of the girls..........

The coasters were part of the table decorations................

.................."made with care by students and staff of Burnside High STEMM programme........"

Jules getting friendly with Leanne.............

...................and Elvis...............

................and WAY too friendly with Charlie................

A worthy cause, great company, lots of fun and AMAZING dancing skills - missed Jane though!!
