a beautiful wedding, a stuffy nose and other random stuff

Dearest Mom and Dad
Sorry about being so slack with the blog but this bloody cold etc made me feel bloody miserable............
But I cheered up tremendously when we arrived at Cat and Paul's wedding.................I have asked for permission to post these photos................
The setting was gorgeous - right beside a lake - the confetti was birdseed !!
AND the bride looked beautiful ..................................
The reception was held at the newly weds home - how special is that - the weather was glorious and the sunset put on a show for us.
All the table decorations were collected or made by Cat (the bride). All so very, very, very pretty.
Vaughn loved the heart shaped bird seed gift tied to the cutlery.................
Cat's bouquet - made by her with jewellery belonging to family members - her Grand father proudly informed me!!

But back to my boring life - the last of my scraps had been cut into strips ............

.................which I crocheted into a mat - oh Mom, for some strange reason, I absolutely loved making this - and I so enjoy the texture of the little mat. I know, its odd..................

Moving on to food - Button introduced me to Persian Feta - OH MY HAT!!

Its soft and delish - so basically I have it with everything...................

So here is the pumpkin plant that sprouted up - I have since discovered another two!!

George really enjoyed having me house bound - yes, this is his happy face!

................... and I am still working on my wool felt crazy - this photo does not show up the colours too well. But I am battling to find the right colour silk ribbon - you would think with all the ribbon I have it would be easy - but no................

We go to Canberra next week - we are all pretty excited but Gareth informed me that it was 5deg this morning !!!

The hunt.................................

Dearest Mom and Dad
Truth be told, Vaughn still hides the eggs and Gareth and Button still enjoy the hunt..............

Eggs in the garden..................

..................like we did in Umhlanga back in the day..........

..........................a quick check of the phone...................

....................and they are off...................

.................its not easy bending when you are over 6f 4" and a rugby player...............

.........working together.....................

.......................proves to be very successful.................

..................very successful......................

all done..............................

..................who knew that money is now packaged with the eggs.................

....................we had such a lovely weekend...........................

Gareth was taught by Button how to make a smoked trout risotto.

Button was in charge of the steak.................

and Gareth in charge of the "couch of doom"....................so named because once you lie down on it there is no getting up!!

Sirloin with smoked garlic.................

Mushrooms stuffed with pumpkin, fetta, roasted peppers and balsamic drizzle

Pumpkin, beans, broccolini, ricotta and pinenuts.....

The house is empty now - and I have 50 million towels to wash!!!!

Back in the land of the living......................

Dearest Mom and Dad
So, I survived the exploding eyeball - barely! Seriously, though, I was a tad frightened ........................all over now..................

Jane has been busy sewing very pretty pillow cases for Alex, her daughter.

I thought you might like the colour of my Converse - so much better than the boring black..........

A student bought a British quilting magazine into class the other day - there was quite a nice review of the book in it!!

George seems to have recovered from having all those teeth pulled..........

I am afraid to say that this is my new addiction!~

I am slowly finding my sewing mojo - am working on felted wool at the moment.........

Vaughn and I are getting seriously excited about Gareth and Button coming home - I have purchased the Beacon Easter eggs for their childhood!!

I have the menu planned for the weekend....................

Hopefully the weather will be like this - .....................this is what it looked like last week..................I love the sea this time of year - the temperature is gorgeous.............
I swim most days.................

............the garden is looking better..........

...................and, as I said, I am enjoying my stitching again.............
