A walk in the rain................

Dearest Mom and Dad
The annual breast cancer walk from Coolum to Noosa proved to be a very wet one.
It did not stop people from dressing up!!

Some of us were way more sensible - here is Sue!!

Debs, Sue and I - we were missing Jane - she was due walk with us but she is still in the UK !! Next year we need to make sure that Tisha joins us too.

Some beautiful sights along the way.................

It did rain all the way - thankfully not hard so it was ok.

Three hours spent walking and spending time with friends and all for a good cause!! BONUS

And my body handled it well - not stiff and no blisters - bodes well for our 60km in October!!

I hope you have a wonderful time with Nunu. I am quite jealous.

Yes, I am feeling a bit better..........................

Dearest Mom and Dad

Madiba has the most glorious face - I am hoping that his passing will be a dignified one.

Rosemary from my crazy class has saved the most amazing bits of fabric. I love the label from the Victoria Falls Hotel - an icon from the past.

I have been busy - starting a new project and finishing another.

I am just loving my little crochet flowers - I have no idea what they will be.......................am enjoying the process.

This happened and Rudd won - oh my hat - I cannot bear the man............................

While I was watching it unfold I got the binding done on my scrappy hexies.

I made this for dinner - it was delish - prawns, fish, potato, lemon zest etc - Vaughn was most impressed.

Its been a bit chilly lately - so Squash spends all her time sleeping.

Happy days. I might put it in the local quilt show. I have no interest in entering my quilts - but I do like seeing other people's quilts so I thought I'd better contribute too.

Uneventful............................

Dearest Mom and Dad
This week has been a strange one - uneventful and a little quiet.
But I spent a lot of time worrying about my family in South Africa..........................

Thinking that I need to get a life now that the book is nearing the end and my empty nest is getting to me.

The scrappy hexagon quilt- lots of old fabrics bought in South Africa so long ago - is quilted and ready to be bound..............

It's naartjie season again................

Just missing my family, I guess.....................

Sunday...........................

Dearest Mom and Dad
Firstly, HAPPY FATHERS DAY, Dad. I love and miss you.

I started Sunday, like all my other days with tea and
 chocolate!!

Vaughn decided to do some serious cleaning in the garden!!

Ella popped over and we made a "George"

I got quite a bit of quilting done on my scrap quilt.........

We headed down to Mooloolaba for lunch - it was a glorious day.................

I then had to fight Charlotte for my quilt.........................

Can you believe I won something - part 2...

Dearest Mom
Well, I told you that I won something I did not tell you what it was.......................remember the lovely morning I spent with Lee in Pamona? This is some of my loot that I bought on the day..............

This is the cushion I won!!!!!

I finished the crochet rug ............................I think I will send it to Button...................they need one for the lounge downstairs - those old houses are a tad drafty!!!

The round wooden tray you gave me is used everyday - one of the doilies in my loot fits perfectly.

Can you believe that I won something.....

Dearest Mom and Dad
On Saturday Lee and I went to Cooroy - a lovely little country town on the way to Noosa. The women who work at Lifeline op shops there put on a lovely morning and a soup lunch. Basically, all the doilies and vintage linen that is donated to Lifeline are washed and starched and sold on the morning. They also make rugs made from the woollen jerseys etc that is donated.

Needless to say, Lee and I shopped up a storm.

I really don't get to see much of Lee anymore - I miss her - so it was great to spend the morning in Cooroy....................Having a bite to eat ......................
Popping into the antique shops = so much to see...............
Oh my gosh - so many gorgeous things...................
I did not take you and Dad to Cooroy - so that means you will have to come and visit again!!!!!!
