Contemplating life..............

Dearest Mom and Dad
I recently started a new series of workshops in Caloundra - and Vickie bought this gorgeous old machine to sew on. It sounded so beautiful - yes, a sewing machine can sound beautiful. It was just like yours Mom, the one converted to electricity. Vicky has kept her as is.......................

I found this battered piece of furniture at a shop in Buderim . I so loved the wear and tear on it. Vaughn got busy and tidied it up a bit.

And then we had lunch - an old favourite tuna lasagne.

We sent my car of to Gareth in Canberra - and he was one happy son!!

After a tumultuous Saturday - Vaughn and I spent a few hours in Mooloolaba. I had the most delicious veggie burger...............

...................and an ice-cream for dessert.

I bought these beautiful fabrics to make a quilt - do you like the colours??

And I do believe these words.............

..................... my swim in the sea on Sunday washed away all my frustrations............

Another country quilt show

Dearest Mom and Dad
On Sunday morning the "girls" headed of to the Peachester quilt show -

..................and while the quilts were quite striking.................

........................some very, very striking.................

I was more drawn to the bunches of flowers that were scattered about........

wow, I just LOVED these...................

Beautiful, beautiful roses - AND they had an aroma!!
We had our priorities right - first, we ate....................

..................then we shopped - I found these beautiful cross grain silk ribbons - I wish I had bought more!!

I came home and had a quick snack...............

And then we took George and Squash for a walk - well, George walked!! Vaughn worked on over the weekend - we are sending my car to Gareth in Canberra - so he got it looking like new - which is it, but I drive it so you know what it looked like inside!!

The sea is just the most gorgeous temperature this time of year, even at 8 in the morning. Crystal clear and a bit chilly - I am enjoying my early morning swim in the sea.

A day in Sydney..................

Dearest Mom and Dad
Button and I caught the bus back to Sydney on Sunday night. This is Paddington - Buttons loft is above the pharmacy which is sort of above the woman's head.
Her loft does not face onto the street - it faces the harbour side.

Button's room .......................... full of her stuff.........

I bought this dress for her at a vintage shop a while back.........

Stuff.......................

The cushion you gave her and Pretty Sue - her doll that I made when she was little......................

Button needed to find some plays for her audition and we went to this bookshop above an old theatre and there was on old man who used this filing system - no computer for him.....................

He was quite amazing - he knew exactly when a play was published - if and when it went out of print - who wrote it etc etc WITHOUT looking through his filing system.
It goes to show that computers are making our brains lazy................

Waiting for a bus to go home - she couldn't wait to start reading!!

We went to my favourite book shop/cafĂ© for lunch.................... three stories of second and books - and lovely little areas to sit and eat wonderful food.

The fire was not lit that day - this is on the top floor - and that's our food. I cant wait to show you Sydney - you will love it.

Debs picked me up from the airport AND provided a 4 course dinner for me. Haven't I chosen my friends wisely ???????

A few days in Canberra..........

Dearest Mom and Dad
Oh my, it was so lovely to head off to Canberra to spend time with Gareth, Button and Chloe. We have found a wonderful house sitter to look after George and Squash -which is good because now we can visit Gareth and Button more often. On arrival in crisp Canberra we headed off to eat - of course. I had a salmon burger - first time for me - it was delish.

As you know, it was ladies day - Gareth's team wore pink.

It was a bit chilly - these are some of the locals feeling the cold.

Button and I.........

All of us after the game - strict instructions from Gareth to have the photo taken!

Gorgeous Gareth's sponsors.

Gorgeous, gorgeous (if slightly woolly) Gareth.

My fortune cookie contained these words!!

Chloe using her bag we made over Christmas.

Chloe's Mom and Dad got dressed up for a costume party!

On a cold and rainy night we headed off to Canberra stadium to watch the sharks play the Brumbies.

Cold but cheerful - Gareth and James

Gareth came prepared.

Gareth's perfect Mother's Day gift!

Much to Button's excited we headed off to Bunnings (a hardware and garden store) to buy a few things for Gareth's vegie patch.

First things first - pulling out years of weeds.

Oh my, the anal ones measured out where to plant the seedling!!

Button bought a garden gnome.

But obviously thought the whole thing was a tad boring and watched from a distance!

But then could not help herself!

As usual, we were all sad to say good bye - BUT I am so thankful that we could spend the short time together.
Wish you were there!!
