A birthday picnic

Dearest Mom
Debs organised a picnic with the girls for my birthday. The weather was awful the whole day but cleared just in time for the picnic. Doesn't Mooloolaba look beautiful?

Sue, Debbie, Cathy, Jane, Donna, Fiona and Lee.

Fresh flowers always such a lovely gift..........

I love pressies - and I was spoilt - Thanks girls..........

.............the food was delish - Donna bought enough food to feed the whole of the Sunshine Coast for a week!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Debbie's pavlova........
Jane's signature sweets and fruit.......Ooooooo!! A sparkler............... A doggy bag for Vaughn - Sue's caramel slice..............

Once again we spent the night laughing out loud!!!!!!!!!
On a more serious note - I am very mindful of the friends I have - I literally don't know where I would be without them.

It's times like this that I miss you very, very much, Mom and Dad. My birthday, now, is a sad time for me but the girls certainly made me forget to be sad for a few hours.............Thanks again!! I missed you, Letitia and Margret!!!!!

Mom, pop onto Cathy's blog - she has some delightful action shots of the night.......

A walk for breast cancer............

Dearest Mom

Debs and I had a fun morning at the Noosa walk for breast cancer. I know how much you love people watching.......... So I took these photos so that you could share the day with me........
(Mom, please excuse the spacing of this post - I just cannot get it right - I need to find out how to correct it..........)

Such commitment - these two girls walked the whole way with these giant boobs ....

Nice view from behind..........

Some of us much preferred playing in the sand.......
..........mom and son...............

..............there were lots of us..............

.................weather was not great..............

Just three mushrooms a day can help prevent breast cancer - who knew??

Just in case we got lost?????

Debbie parted the crowd to take this photo - she was very determined...........

As Debbie pointed out, there were a lot of males out there very happy about wearing their bras!!!

Now this is what I call a good fit!!!!!!

The Press got dressed up too........

.

A poignant reminder of what the day was all about.

My favourite couple of the day - A mom and son team...........

.................the son waiting for Mom at the finish line.............

Deb and I are definitely doing this again next year. We will rally the troupes to join us and make more of an effort with our attire!!!!

Quilt show.............

Dearest Mom (and Margret)
Jane and I headed off to the Queensland Quilt show on Sunday - we did get a bit lost - but got there in the end........
Here are a few quilts that appealed to me - most of them English Paper pieced..............

Goodness, the planning that must have gone into this quilt is mind blowing!!!

This quilt with the trees was really "lovely in the flesh" - not a very good photograph....

Dear Jane gazing at a "Dear Jane" quilt - she has threatened to make one of these ............rather her than me

I really liked this one too............

Crazy fans...........

.................close up...............

We didn't buy much.......... templates, fabric and a bag pattern..........

..............I did buy this cute little scissor fob - it holds a thimble... handy...
