Dropped out..............

Dearest Mom and Dad
It's Saturday so that means - rugby - Stingrays and then the Big One - All Blacks v the Bokke!!!!
The Rays are not doing well at all - but I did hear a "bring it on" from Gareth when he read that he will be playing against Beau Robinson today - Gareth just LURVES playing the against the BIG boys!!
Well, Beau is not big but he plays for a big team!!

I happened to ask Jane if she had seen the new Sue Daly BOM - silly question - ever since then I have not seen her!!!!

She is way too busy fussy cutting her fabrics to create a design within a design - if you know what I mean??

When I do get to see her, after a while I can see her eyes glaze over, obviously thinking about her next bit of fabric to cut up - I mean I can't be that boring!!!!

On Thursday nights when we meet at Buderim - she makes no eyes contact with any one - head down - focusing on these %$%$% pieces of paper - figuring out where she is going to put what!!

Look, I know that this quilt is going to be spectacular........

........but I could I please have my friend back??

On a more serious note, I hope you are feeling better and that the weather has improved.

Oh happy HAPPY HAPPY day..............

Dearest Mom
You might need to tilt your head to the left to look at some of the photographs - for some unknown reason I could not get them in the correct position............but any way.......
Do you remember that gorgeous Mary Poppins bag that Rosemary made???? Well, to be honest I lusted after it.

I don't have to anymore - Rosemary made one for me - wooohoooooo!!!!!!!!

Rosemary made a few labels that were attached to the bag - "Paddington bear style", she said.

Tilt your head now, please!!

Head straight for this one - such kind words, thank you, Rosemary!!!!

Rosemary knows how scared I am of flying. The bag actually works - it has wheels !!!! She is so cleaver!
Close up of MY bag....................

A touch of Africa - Rosemary is originally from Rhodesia.......

Time to tilt your head again ..............

It's the exact size to take as "carry on " luggage - perfect for my trips to see Button and South Africa.
I am very spoiled indeed.!!!

Thank you, once again, Rosemary!

STEMM................. a worthy cause

Dearest Mom and Dad
On Saturday night I went to a fund raiser for STEMM - "empowering pregnant girls and young mums through support and education to gain independence". My friend Debbie is a volunteer - she looks after the babies while their young mums go to school.
The theme of the evening was HOLLYWOOD - Debbie walking the red carpet - looks as though she has done it before!!!

The waitstaff were dressed as Audry Hepburn.............

or (a very surprised looking) - Charlie Chaplain!!!

Seven of these young mums are heading off to university this year - overcoming huge obstacles - well done!!! Here they are accepting bursaries from generous Sunshine Coast businesses.

The waitstaff and Leanne......

..................... the dessert - sticky date pudding............I didn't get to photograph the main - I ate it before I remembered to take one............

.................... a prize for one of the silent auctions..........
All the lovely people at our table..............

................Leanne and Jules ...............behaving, for now............

Debbie and I - too much wine, me thinks!!! See what happens when Jane is around to reign us in........

Debbie is a volunteer - receiving a well deserved thank you hug from one of the girls..........

The coasters were part of the table decorations................

.................."made with care by students and staff of Burnside High STEMM programme........"

Jules getting friendly with Leanne.............

...................and Elvis...............

................and WAY too friendly with Charlie................

A worthy cause, great company, lots of fun and AMAZING dancing skills - missed Jane though!!

Yissieeeee.............

Dearest Mom
I am beginning to think that there is something wrong with the way my brain is wired!! ..................I woke up early to bake for the Thursday night group...........
I put too little flour in the carrot cakes - for heaven sake - I have been making these for about 20 years!!

I put too many eggs in the date loaf AND I burned it................... I mean this recipe is sooooooo easy............

It was such a waste of time - I could picked up some Tim Tams on the way home from work.........

..................and spent the morning going for a walk...........

............. or adding to the useless collection in my laundry............

..................or doing more crazy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Honestly, I am OVER myself!!!!

A good Friday............

Dearest Mom
I had such a lovely day on Friday. I got together with Pam, Irene, Leanne and Connie at my home. We are supposed to meet once a month but this is the first time I have seen them THIS year - just not good enough - I so enjoy their company!!!!!!
I also got to have a little quilt show as they bought all their goodies to show me.
Pam found all these purple and pink squares at an op-shop - she popped into to see Lee and they added the white spot and the green - I wish I could find some neatly cut up fabric when I visit op-shops!!!!!

The girls are each making one of these quilts - they bought pattern and fabric from the Patchwork Angel.

This quilt of Pam's is so effective - strong design - I like this one.........

..............Pam has made it for a little boy so each square has an animal featured in it............

Pam and Irene have been making this block of the month for as long as I have known them - only joking - it just feels that way..........

Pam has been a very busy girl ...........she has also made a few bears........

.......got me thinking - I need to make the teddies I bought from TeddyTech in Durbs!!!!!!!
http://www.teddytech.biz/

Leanne's daughter Liza made this quilt - good design too - I am partial to this one .......

..................close up....................

Irene has had a busy time - travelling across the world - she knitted scarves from this "wool"

...............when knitted up it looks like this - who knew??

Now, nobody EVER whats to be in the photos - except Irene - they are happy for the quilts to be photographed but not them...............So just to prove to you that they are not my imaginary friends they agreed to pose for one photo!!!!!

Little did they know I had sneaked this one in - they were too busy learning how to crochet flowers - Letitia's flowers are taking over the world!!!!!
