Vaughn's weekend in a very chilly Canberra...

Dearest Mom and Dad
Soooo good to hear that you are on the mend, Dad.

As you know, Vaughn spent the weekend in Canberra with Gareth..................and, yes, there was food. Pre match breakfast!!

It was freezing - they all went looking for snow!!

Gareth and Chloe.

All 'rugged up"

Hmmmm, me thinks the snow was too far away!!

They saw some roos.

Not much fun "warming up" in 2deg and rain.

And then to strip off and play!!

Post game dinner - at Gareth and Chloe's favourite restaurant.

Chloe looks keen.

All smiles now that they are out of the rain.

In Gareth's words "Dad and I had a great weekend".

A quiet week

Dearest Mom and Dad
Good to hear that Dad is on the mend. Here are some photos of Gareth to cheer him up!!

Oh my hat - look at the size of number ONE that he running towards!!!

I am eventually get this quilt together...................

But I have two fluffy problems to deal with........................

Jane made this beautiful quilt about 4 years ago....................

and EVENTUALLY gave it to Fiona to machine quilt.

Margret started this a while ago - can you believe that the shape of the pieces are exactly the same as my scrappy one??

It was my turn to host the girls sewing night - first wine and then tea!!

Funny thing cats have with bags.......................boxes or anything they can crawl into.

And yes, ANOTHER photo of a glorious day - this time from Cotton Tree.

Picnics, carrots and cake...........

Dearest Mom and Dad
I cam across this photo of a little Gareth the other day. I wonder what he is gazing at so intently ...........................

I can still enjoy these with my tea - the smell reminds me of 21 Hilken Drive................

Sue "offered" to make me these hand bags to keep all my crazy teaching stuff in..............

She is so enjoying having her gorgeous twin granddaughters to sew for...........

......................too bloody cute.............

Gorgeous Gareth continues to enjoy his gardening.........

He now has a little greenhouse to protect his seedlings from the freezing Canberra weather.

Wow, the concentration!!

The weather continues to be glorious - so we headed off to Mooloolaba for fish and chips...............

Waiting patiently for Vaughn to arrive with the food.

Not the healthiest, I know...........................

And then we went for a walk...................

Beautiful...................

To say thanks to Sue - I took her to tea and invited the rest...................

...................good times.......................

delicious cake................

.......................and you are forgiven for thinking that this is Rhino poo - it is what healthy Debs ordered instead of a calorie ridden cake - she assured us that it was quite delicious........................

Trees, bad food and text messages...........

Dearest Mom and Dad
I managed to grow ONE sunflower................................

................on Sunday Vaughn and I went to Maleny for a walk in the Mary Cairn Cross park "thingy"...............
It was a lovely day and the scenery so peaceful.  We decided to have lunch at the little cafĂ© on the grounds - it was warm and cosy with a fire and some "live" music........................BUT the food was awful - which was such a pity, but anyhow...........

We enjoyed the morning..................

I googled my book the other day and this is what the page looked like...............

With Gareth in Canberra, Button in Sydney, Vaughn in Brissie and me on the Sunny Coast keeping in touch as a family is easy with modern technology.  We send each other group messages with all our daily activities - this practice was initiated by Gareth................

...................so from saying goodnight to "I passed everything" - we are all in the loop.

As you know, walking with Squash can be a tad trying - sometimes she walks, other days she refuses  to..................

so, I bought her a puppy bag.......................................

Now, I know that it looks as though she is not impressed with her new mode of transport........

Trust me - she actually quite enjoys it.

Missing you.

Two birthdays and other stuff.........................

Dearest Mom and Dad
As you know, it was Vaughn's birthday...................

We went out for a curry lunch...................

......................our normal walk on the beach...................

........................beautiful, as usual.

I tried to get the placing of my quilt done - but, NO..........

Odd, my blood pressure is going down again - but my heart rate is up. So, what the hell does that mean????

The sunflowers are growing!!

I scored this find at an opshop!!

I spent time in my sewing room..................

..........................on my wool crazy.....................

And then it was Gorgeous Gareth's birthday!!!!!!!! I can still see him on his beloved Umhlanga beach - those were the days............................
Okay, so I want your advise. This red Persian rug used to be in our dining room in South Africa - and it got hammered by the sun. Where it is in the house here in Oz - it gets afternoon sun - which I know you said is the worst. But I HATE having the blinds down - so, should I not worry and let the rug fade more OR should I be responsible and look after it???????????????

The weather is still glorious - this is what greeted me when I took the dogs for a walk around the lake yesterday!!

Here's hoping that all goes well with Pearl today.
