Painting

Dearest Mom
I watched this woman painting on her balcony for quite a while - it was on one of busiest streets in Sydney - Oxford street. I loved the way she seemed to find a calm space in her head to be creative in the noise and bustle of a huge city.

A picnic with the girls

We headed off to Mooloolaba for a picnic - instead of meeting at Buderim as the hall was set up for the Christmas fair. I was a bit worried as I had said I would take a chicken but then decided that I would bake those delicious almond thingies instead!!!! I was worried that there would not be enough food !!!!! How wrong I was ..................
We laughed from the time we arrived - debs celebrated my birthday AGAIN !!!! I was not complaining.

A very special trunk show

Dearest Mom and Dad
I need to play catch up on the blog for you - as I have lots of photos and stuff to show you - my mind has been elsewhere recently.
I met Joan many years ago and I was privileged to have her in my crazy classes last year. I asked if she would come and do a trunk show at Buderim Quilters.
WOW - she sure did have amazing work to show us - she is a fibre artist and you would have absolutely loved her work. I managed to take a few photos to show you.
Yes that is a barbed wire bra - it was Joan's contribution to a Breast Cancer challenge!!
Enjoy!

Coldplay - been there, done that, got the t-shirt !!

Dearest Mom and Dad
Button bought "mosh pit" tickets for Coldplay - so that meant it was standing the whole concert right in front of the stage - I think I was the oldest person in the mosh pit!! But I am so glad she did - we experienced all the fun with the confetti bombs, giant beach balls etc. I felt the excitement of the crowd, i danced and screamed the night sway - because i had no bloody choice - we were so tightly packed in !! I don't think you get the same experience when you are sitting sedately in a seat up with the gods!
We cried too - a lot. A very special night.

So, I want to live in Annandale

Dearest Mom and Dad
Unbeknown to me, Button's voice coach lives down the road from Quiltsmith - a shop I have being dying to go to!!!!
Sue asked me to buy fabrics for her - I always shop for Jane and I!!!!!! So off I went with someone else's money and spent up a storm!!!!
But - oh my gosh - I LOVED Annandale - it's my new favourite suburb of Sydney. You would love it too, Mom!!

A walk to Bondi Junction in the rain ..,

While Button was busy at her acting class I headed off in search of a small food steamer. The wall to Bondi Junction was long but I got see some interesting stuff.
Lots of people ride bikes in Sydney - not ordinary bikes - it's like a new status symbol !!!!!
By the way I found the little steamer
- perfect for one or two people.
I bought cake from a bakery - they leave their recipe books on the tables for you to read !!!!
Some people grow their veggies in the beds on the verge !!
