Dearest Mom and Dad
Jess was the first girl that Button met on arrival in Australia - 10 years later and still best friends.................

I think this combo are WAY better at washing my dishes than my Westinghouse!!!!

These %$%$% cane toads - they come into my house !!!!!!

We have no idea what happened to George's paw - he couldn't walk on it the whole weekend - all of a sudden it was better!!!! Hmmmmmmm, I wonder if he was just looking for attention - anything is possible with him.............

Gareth doing what he loves to do - mixing music......

I taught another class of the little boxed bags..........

The two Sandys ....................

OH HAPPY DAYS!!!!!!

Dearest Mom and Dad
Darby and I decided to treat ourselves - so we flew Gareth and Button home for the weekend - it was Australia Day on Thursday so we made it a long weekend.
We were not the only ones happy to have them home ..............

..............even Charlotte showed some emotion!!

So herewith the family photos - as usual - have you noticed that I take the photos in exactly the same place the the house????? The family are like Pavlov's dogs - when I say "photo" they move in front of the wash stand - well trained I say!!!

Vaughn and Button...........

Vaughn and Gareth!!! I LOVE this photo........

The four of us ..................

Have you also noticed that George always seems to be in the family shots - we don't plan it this way - funny dog!!!!

Out for a Mexican feast .........

It would have been wonderful if you could have shared the weekend with us.

It's raining............again?

Dearest Mom and Dad
The four of us will all be under one roof this weekend - WOOOHOOO!! Well, that's if the airport is not washed away!!!!!

Nat made a beautiful bride this weekend at the bridal expo...............

..................so elegant...........

She was named after Natalie Wood - I see a resemblance...........

This recipe from Inner Pickle is delicious - the first time I made it was not as good. With choc, almonds, condensed milk and 40 tonnes of butter it is not the healthiest. But boy, is it good!!!!

And so quick and easy to make AND eat!!!

On a healthier note, my lettuce is ready for harvesting and Darby and I are enjoying it with everything!!!!!!

Here comes the bride.............

Dearest Mom and Dad
One of the tall people is a model this weekend at the bridal expo............

So we headed off to Noosa for Natalie to try on the dresses she will be modelling - along the way we found this giant pelican................

So, Nat will be wearing this yellow number - a bridesmaid...........

............. one of the wedding dresses............

................."mother of the bridegroom".........

We were a tad worried that she would not be modelling a wedding gown - we got pretty excited when we heard the good news !!!!

Oh my hat!!! I am so impressed with my green fingers.............. my lettuce crop.......

my tomatoes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

.................and the dreaded parsley.....looking good!!

I discovered this delightful blog - every Wednesday she publishes a slice recipe - they are right up my alley - easy and tasty. Darby is impressed!!! You can find the recipe for the passion fruit slice HERE.

I find it very boring working on one quilt at a time - but I am being strong - taking the papers out of the hexagon quilt and watching the tennis..................perfect!

Have a lovely weekend!!!!

A mo and a tie.................

Dearest Mom and Dad
I don't know if Darby saw this book...................

..............but it has been years since I saw him sporting a mo and a tie..................

.....................Crazy classes have started - this is Sara-Marie - her first crazy class - she is cutting up her Grand mothers dresses to make a GIANT cushion for her daughter............

...................all the crazy girls have new projects planned.............. Jan, Cheryl and Lorrae...

I am determined to finish off some UFO's that have been hanging around - I have a few more hexagons to fill in on the border of my 1/2" hexagon quilt and then I am ready to hand quilt it.

I learned about planting veggies in polystyrene boxes - not very pretty I know................

..................but I think its going to work. Darby came in from the garden the other day and commented on how crisp my lettuce leaves were looking - nicest compliment he has payed me in years!!!!!!!!!
I think I will have more success with my tomato crop too.....

Darby and Joan went out for dinner and then a romantic???? walk on the beach - there was no-one to take a photo of us - so we took it ourselves - we don't look too good - but, oh well........

Back to being Darby and Joan.............

Dearest Mom and Dad
Well, Gareth left yesterday so the house is all quiet and empty again. It was so lovely having them home - the weather was good that meant a picnic at the Spit and a swim in the sea.............

.......... for fresh prawns - I forgot to pack the wasabi-mayo. Carol taught me to eat wasabi with cold prawns - delish!

I know the fish and chips are not very healthy - but s##t they taste good!!!!! Deep fried pineapple rings............

Darby had to catch this little beauty for me as it was a little too close for comfort - as I said on Sew so Crazy I need to dust the patio - look at all the dust he collected!!!!!!!!

I need to finish this bag for work - I was given the pattern and the drawings of the animals - I chose the fabrics - hmmmmm - I think I could have been a bit more creative, maybe it will look a bit better when its completed.

The new year....................

Dearest Mom and Dad
We went to Point Cartwright to watch the early fireworks on New Years Eve ...............

Vaughn tried to take a photo of the fireworks ....................no luck!!!

Dinner with the tall people...............always good.................

Debbie, Letitia, Jane and I had lunch together - I made them each a little scissor fob from 2 Suffolk puffs and a purse clasp. I am very into my scissor fobs at the moment - I find them very handy as they hold my thimbles - I am constantly looking for thimbles - not anymore as they are now attached to my scissors!!!

The little hearts are from Debs.

Close up of the Suffolk puff purse/thingy/fob..................

I have a few quilts that need to be finished - so I am going to try and work on just one quilt at a time!!!!!!! My 1/2" hexagon quilt - I decided not to add a normal border - but am using up the left over hexagons to make the border. Although it is a lot more work, I am happy with it.

I needed extra storage in my sewing room.......................

So Vaughn organised this little shelf under the window to hold my books - quite nifty, hey? The little house is a gift from Letitia, her husband John made them for us..

Happy New Year!!!!!!!!!!!
