Back on track........................

Dearest Mom and Dad,

Now that Dad is all good, I have the brain space to blog about my weekend in Sydney.

I was at the airport nice and early only to discover that my flight had been cancelled - so I had to kill about three hours - not a problem for me - I had some sewing and my IPad to listen to some podcasts......................... so I was fine!!

Button had organised for us to go to a stand up venue - there are some very, very funny people out there.

No props allowed for the comedians.

There are so many beautiful old building in Sydney - gorgeous floors and rugs.............

The following day - I braved the public transport and headed off to the Sydney quilt show.
Look, I have to be honest, I still get a tingle when I see my book on display!!!!

The food was good at the venue - breakfast>

The quilts were stunning.

I mean, I caught a bus and found my own way - IN SYDNEY, nogal!

There were free ferry rides back to Darling Harbour or Circular Quay for all the quilt show ticket holders - amazing really.

It was gloomy day.........

Then I walked the 14km back to Paddington - stopping off at beautiful shopping centres along the way.

Floors...............................

Trees in the middle of Sydney.

Back in Paddington - this is the famous or infamous Oxford Street
where Button lives. Her terrace is on the right above the pharmacy - her loft does not face this road though.

More photos to come.

Heading off to Sydney.......................................

Dearest Mom and Dad
So, its official.
Katrina's (Chloe's Mom) announcement in the paper was fun.................

We went a little serious .....................

Gorgeous Gareth..................... messing around.

In amongst the excitement we find time to walk George and do lunch at Mooloolaba.

Then home for afternoon tea.

Lee (the amazing gardening guru) invited us over for tea.

I practised my photography skills...............

Her garden is something else - you would LOVE it.

This is my favourite photo I took .......................

It was not hard to find gorgeous plants to zoom in on.

I mean, really???

Did I mention that Lee has a magnificent garden?

And a beautiful house too.

And she can bake - super woman!!!

As you know, I am going to spend a few days with Button and will be enjoying all the stunning quilts at the Sydney quilt show.

Vaughn's 60th - kan jy dit glooi????

Dearest Mom and Dad
We booked a table for a birthday breakfast......................

Great food here..................and wonderful company...................

Then we went to the markets to buy veggies - we bought lots of leeks!!!

Great markets in Canberra.

Beautiful kale.

A very cute teapot and succulent for Katrina.

And then it was time to cook the birthday meal. Gareth's little veggie patch produced this glorious pumpkin and one tiny beetroot.

The tiny beetroot received a lot of attention.

A quick family photo op.

The leeks!!!

While Gareth kept Vaughn busy we got to decorate the table..............

 ...................with stuff.....................

Some of us wore party hats..............

And then it was time to make the birthday cake - Katrina, Gareth and Button!

The end result.

It took some careful planning to light candles.............

.....................and sparklers...........

All set.................

The grand entrance - Button leading the way....................

Party time...............

Some people wore more than one party hat................

The grand reveal..................

Contrary to this photo the birthday boy had a good night!!!!!!

And received some interesting gifts....

Another great night spent at the Andersons.
I wish all of you could have been there,
