We are just a little excited.................

Dearest Mom and Dad
Our quiet days are going to be livened up on Saturday - because BUTTON is coming home for a few days!!!!! YAY!!!!!!

I was on white glove duty at the Caloundra quilt show on the weekend. Lots of great quilts - I like this chair upholstered with bits of quilt offcuts!!!

I went out for tea with Sue !!!!

Cathy had three quilts at the show - I loved this one.................unfortunately my photos of her other quilts were not too good. Pop onto her blog www.cathyatstudio28.blogspot.com - she has some nice photos of crazy - I taught there last year. They looked so good...................

The sunrises have been breath taking lately - Debs and I hate waking up so early to walk - but when we get to the beach .................................

................... and see this - it makes it all worth while.

We are still "in training" for our 60km walk in October - it is now being advertised on Tv quite a lot. We are still short of a bit of money - but I am sure we will get there in the end.

A quick post........................

Dearest Mom,
Your new home looks so beautiful! I am sure that you and Dad will be very very happy there.
I was having a lovely week until I realised that I had to make a "teaching sample" for the editors of the book. Worked frantically for a few days until Vaughn emailed them - we were then informed that an error had been made and I was only due to have it done by October!!!!

Debs and I are still in fundraising mode - we were very fortunate to have Maureen come and do a trunk show for us at Buderim as a fundraiser. You will love Maureen's quilts, Mom. Pop onto www.buderimpatchwork.blogspot.com !

The weather has been lovely and getting a bit warmer - a sure sign of warmer weather is Gemsquash being carried!!

I spent a lovely morning with my new crazy class from Caloundra - we went choosing fabrics and then stopped off for tea. I enjoyed a delicious KOEKSISTER!!!

Vaughn and I went to see a play in Brisbane - so good - then because it was a gorgeous day, we went for a walk. Do you recognise this area? I think you went there on your "train trip"???

I have started joining my scrappy half square triangles I cut a while back!!

Mom, your new land line number is still not working for me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I should be helping you with your move.....................

Dearest Mom and Dad
So, here's the thing....................Children should be there to help their elderly parents move - but I am not............................. I am Sorry!!!

While you and Dad are frantically loving Charlotte and I spend some time in the sun!

I am still not eating meat - but we are loving all the seafood - I made a chillie, prawn and avo pizza the other day!! Vaughn had two!!!

Squash loves the wool lying around at the moment!

To raise much needed funds for our 60km walk we are holding little workshops at the Buderim group on Thursday night. This is what I taught the other night - but I have the feeling that I was a bit of a grumpy teacher!!!!

I am sending this crochet bag to Nunu - whether she uses it or not does not worry me! Maybe she can keep her socks in it???

I still gaze at this quilt on my blog - I will get to see it again on Tuesday. We are going to a talk on antique quilts and it will be there!!

I had coffee with Ady - I have not seen her in AGES - it was good to see her - we literally never stop talking!!!!
Someone posted this photo on Facebook - can you see a little Vaughn in it????

Good luck with the move, Mom!

An antique crazy quilt......................

Dearest Mom and Dad
I hope you have time to read this while you are in the process of moving.
My friend Cathy called me and asked if I would be interested in going to see and antique crazy quilt ???????????
So off we went and lying on a bed on the Sunshine Coast was this incredible quilt........................
Oh Mom, in the flesh it is magnificent - in fact, I thought I might cry.

Helen, who found this quilt in a trunk which belonged to her grandmother, invited us to view the quilt.

So, it was made in 1885 - if I can remember correctly.

In the flesh - oh my - the embroidery..................

The colours............................

...............................and fabrics...........................

.........................have I mentioned that it was amazing???

What a privilege to see it close up -.............................

............................for as long as I wanted to.................................

..............................I have no more words..................................

................................................

We did see some other needlework, crochet and a quilt belonging to Helen's grandmother...................

..........................so generous with their time.................and a cake was baked.
A very special morning.

A quilt show and beautiful weather

Dearest Mom and Dad
I put my on working shoes and headed off to hang quilts for our local quilt show...............

We needed a few quilts as props - so I gathered some of my oldies - they needed the airing!!

My half inch hexie quilt........................

SOOOOOO funny - I was taking a shapchat of my scrappy quilt to send to Gareth and Button - as I was taking the snapchat I overheard two women discussing my quilt - They decided that it was "Way too busy"!!!!! Funny thing - that's what I love about it!!

Between working at the show Vaughn and I did take time to go to the beach......................

Glorious weather at the moment.

AND Jane is back!!!!!
