Oh, what a beautiful day.............

Dearest Mom, Dad and Button

After a few days (or was it weeks) of rain, the sky cleared and it was a glorious day.
We ended it with a walk at my favourite spot - Point Cartwright - with two of my favourite men.........

It's my turn ........................

Dearest Mom

Well, it's my turn tonight to do a trunk show. Normally, this kind of thing does not bother me - but I am nervous about it. Most of my quilts are worn and old, and quite frankly, some of them smell!!!!!! You know, from being cupboards for years.
It's quite a big thing - getting quilts off walls etc. It is also an emotional experience, looking at the quilts I have made and reminiscing about the life I was living etc at the time of making them.
The heart quilt was made for me by the "Quilters by the Sea" girls who I sewed with for about 13 years - from the time Button was born to when we immigrated to Oz.

I have EVENTUALLY got this cray quilt together - OH MY HAT - I have sooooo struggled with this - I think it's the colours .................. the green is WAY too strong.....

No matter - it is a good teaching tool.................

You have kept the quilts I gave you in such pristine condition - it would have been nice to have had them to show.

It's a pity that the double wedding ring has faded - it's always been one of my favourites.

I did manage to put together enough quilts to show - pity about the smell, though!!!!!!!!

A little bit of this and that...............

Dearest Button and Mom,

Marie spent 4 very "therapeutic" hours fraying this collection of denim fabric for a crazy project!!

Margret "saved" this vintage Suffolk puff cushion from an Op-shop and gave it to me - love it!!!!

Jane made this little bag as a gift for her sister - we changed the shape from the last one we made..........
We cheated a bit by using a fabric for the back of the bag - why not when the fabric is so gorgeous....

Valerie at the Patchwork Angel crazy class.........

.............ANOTHER Suffolk puff - this time on Valerie's work - embellished with a vintage button..
Cheryl, Marie, Wendy, Gwen and Valerie...................

Wendy started crazy yesterday and this is what she produced - wow.............

We ordered these delicious rolls from across the road - salad, avo, chicken, brie and cranberry jelly - yummy!!!!!

The tall people...............

A few fabrics that I have collection for a quilt ..............

A sewing room.....................before........

Dearest Mom, Letitia, (who you met when you visited here), went "walk about" for a while. BUT she is back, thank goodness, I missed her. First thing on her list was to sort and purge her sewing room. The only thing is, she has started making Suffolk puffs out of her scraps - I know what time wasters they can be - so getting her room sorted may take her longer than expected................. Letitia was brave enough to show us the "before" - well, we sort of invited ourselves!!!!!!! Letitia has cute storage stuff.............

.......................how many magazines can someone read???.................
......hmmmmmmmmm.....no words.................
..................a lovely collection of baskets - very similar to the ones that I left in South Africa.....
..............who knows.................
............grandchildrens' artwork............
..............the cutest old toy sewing machine................I want one..............
..........last but not least...........

I wonder if Letitia is under a bit of pressure to get this room done for the "after" photos????
