Valentino, pugs, Marilyn and Button....
Dearest Mom
Button and I spent the day in Brisbane today- why do I look like a hobbit in this foto?? We went to the Valentino exhibition - saw some amazing dresses - the workmanship was quite incredible.
BUT then on our way to have lunch we came across a fashion show in the park - with pugs as the models !! What is the connection between pugs and Valentino you may well ask. Well, he has 5 of them. Who knew? The pugs were dressed in red - the winner was a 12 year old cross dresser wearing a long red train !!! He was very good for his age. So darn cute.
We then went to the Douglas Kirkland photograph exhibition - and while Button and I did appreciate the Valentino dresses - we enjoyed the photographs way more. What a career this man has had - on the sets of movies from "The sound of music" to the present day. His photographs of Marilyn Monroe were astounding. He has had the privilage of photographing the most famous people of our time.
Lastly, yes Penny http://www.blogger.com/www.patchworkangel.typepad.com/blog/, we did stop and have a glass of French Champagne. By that stage Button was over me taking photographs of her!!!
